A shtetl or shtetele-German: städtlein, meaning ("little town/city") typical a small town or village with a large Jewish population before WW II.
I started to take pictures in 1977 because I wanted to stop time going by. I didn't know then that I was to enter the entirely different and somewhat magic and mystical world.
Where to start?
Everything cracks and shakes,
The air trembles with similes,
No one world's better than another;
the earth moans with metaphors.
